A large local printing organization had approached
Netflexity to develop a web-based solution that would
allow their customers to place, modify and track orders
online. Our client was offering its services to several
thousand businesses on east coast, primarily car dealerships,
furniture stores and other retail organizations who regularly
send large customized colorful brochures to their potential customers.
Business Requirements:
- Customers must be able to create an account using existing account information.
- Place, monitor and modify orders online.
- Upload files containing printing materials images and content.
- Select customizable content.
- Securely upload customer databases containing names, addresses and other demographic information.
- Customize order content or image based on any attributes in the customer database such as zip code, sex or credit rating.
- Maintain multiple customer databases.
- Re-order based on the specifications from previous orders.
- Check order status.
- View Invoices
- Client must be able to track orders by quantity, date of entry, priority, client name, etc.
- View pending orders and the speed at which they are being processed
- Create, modify and submit invoices to their clients.
- Approximate dollar amount of cash receivables for sent out invoices.
- Send out promotions.
Implementing Methodology
Netflexity applied its full cycle methodology to
complete this project. Project was completed in
less than 6 months exceeding customer expectations
by several months.
Lessons Learned
Netflexity took old but proven
approach of spending more time in design and going over
the details meticulously rather than implementing best interpretation
of business requirements. We understand that behind every
IT investment our clients make, there is a business need and
unless that business need had been fulfilled we do not consider
the mission to be complete.
